Human Resources Manager – Confidential


The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the overall direction of the Human Resources function within the organization. Key to this position will be the ability to ensure the consistent application of policies and procedures across the organization with a focus on regulatory compliance. This role will be strategic in nature, as the Human Resources Manager will be a critical team player in managing future growth, from a people perspective, at a national level.


Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Direct Reports: None currently

Indirect Reports: None currently

Location: Edmonton, AB



The position will include the following responsibilities:

  • Overall strategic planning for the Human Resources function within the organization
  • Ensure the organization maintains its compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Assist and oversee the recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes
  • Develop a compensation strategy/policy
  • Oversee and manage the benefits program
  • Work with senior leadership to develop a performance management system, including a formal review process, compensation strategy and succession planning
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across all geographies

Success in the first year will be determined by the candidate’s ability to:

  • Finalize and roll out new benefits plan and options to staff
  • Finalize and roll out new compensation package for sales associates
  • Review, recommend and implement revisions to the compensation model for non-sales staff
  • Support national sales team leaders in developing and implementing training tools for sales associates
  • Work with administration and operation team leaders to create appropriate training tools for those departments
  • Review, recommend and implement enhancements to the mid-year and annual performance review process
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and roll out a branded on-boarding package for new staff



The successful candidate will have the following:


  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Designation
  • Business degree considered an asset


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, ideally in a growth orientated entrepreneurial environment
  • Experience in a licensing, compliance and regulatory environment


  • Ability to establish and clearly communicate priorities within a demanding, goal-oriented environment
  • Strong ability to foster collaboration, cohesion and support
  • Commitment to service both internal and external clients
  • Excellent team player with strong communication abilities
  • Ability to garner support in the execution of strategic plans and goals
  • Not afraid to work with strong personalities in a driven, fast paced environment
  • Ability to build relationships and add value for colleagues and offices across the country
