Sean McLean, MSc

An educator and leader in non-profit organizations for nine years, Sean's experience on senior executive teams, boards of directors, and as a hiring manager has led him to firmly believe that every new hire represents an opportunity to add value to an organization.  Assisting organizations with the challenge of identifying and assessing talent in this tight market is what attracted Sean to Conroy Ross Partners in 2005.

A graduate of Saint Francis Xavier University, where he played basketball as an Academic All-Canadian member of the 1993 CIS National Championship Men’s Basketball Team, Sean began his professional life as an award-winning educator.   He later completed a Masters of Science specializing in technology integration and process improvement.

His career has progressed from educator, conference guest speaker and educational consultant, to leadership roles as Principal and Vice President of Operations within accredited independent schools.  Prior to his career in education, Sean gained valuable experience and knowledge working for Human Resources Development Canada, where he was responsible for identifying, recruiting, coaching and developing talent within numerous organizations - an opportunity that honed his ability to successfully match employers with talented candidates.

Sean's initial experiences in executive search gave him the opportunity to recruit across functional areas for a variety of roles in numerous industries.  His practice continues to reflect the western Canadian market, with significant emphasis on senior executive and management roles in finance and accounting, operational leadership, information technology/services, and human resources.

Sean is active in the community and continues to pursue his passion for education by serving on the Boards of the Calgary Learning Centre, Edge School, and Basketball Alberta, while also volunteering for Junior Achievement and Calgary High School Sports.
